Texas Senator John Cornyn: Big John campaign video

by Eric Dondero

Editor's Note - Libertarian Republican blog was given an advanced link to this video.

Easily the best campaign video produced by any campaign for 2008 so far: Democrat, Republican, Independent or Libertarian. This Cornyn video has it all - humor, catchy soundtrack, and an appropriate traditional Texas feel.

Cornyn has always scored very high on Republican Liberty Caucus voting indexes, as a matter of fact, he's tied at least once with fellow Texan Kay B. Hutchison for the Number One slot, in the Senate. And at least on one occasion that we're aware of, Cornyn has called his own beliefs "essentially libertarian."

His reelection is all but assured. But good to know his campaign team is on top of things, none-the-less.

If McCain falters in 2008, John Cornyn for President 2012?

Wow, I searched for other responses to "Big John's" video and found this site. Are you sure you understand what a libertarian is?

The senator's ad is really embarrassing to those of us who place the Constitution above any fear-speak about protecting the homeland. Good grief, don't you feel as if our party has stupid people at the top?

If you really believe in a certain set of principles, don't suspend them out of fear of what may happen. Lincoln did that, and managed to wipe out 160,000 of our forefathers to do something the other world powers accomplished without fireing a shot.

To a libertarian, Cornyn's endorsement of big-time spending and perpetual war makes him no more palpable than Mr. McCain. He's just more of the same.

In November I'm leaving blank any ballot that does not give us a true lover of freedom. For me, that means leaving the boxes for president, senator and governor empty, unless there is a third-party fella who I can supoport. I'll not be pressured into voting for just any republican just so a dem doesn't win.

And NO, it will not be my fault if the dems win, it will be the silly, adolescent compromisers in the GOP. Give us a real leader for once.
